A nationwide road traffic survey in the Slovak Republic is realized as a part of the road traffic (E-Road Traffic Census) organized by the European Economic Commission at the United Nations Organization in Geneva and an international organization EUROSTAT in Brussels. National traffic census has been realized in Slovakia since 1959, and since 1980 every 5 years on all sections on the motorways, expess roads, I.class and II.class roads and selected sections of III.class roads.
A nationwide road traffic survey is realized to:
- obtain data on the traffic intensity in the orad network,
- obtain data for planning and organization of the investment projects,
- updating the ofrecast for the traffic development
The project „Performance and assessment of the nationwide traffic survey in 2015“ was realized on the basis of the contract between the contracting authority SSC and the provider Výskumný ústav dopravný, a.s. in cooperation with the Centrum dopravního výzkumu, v.v.i. and personal agencies.
NATIONWIDE TRAFFIC SURVEY RESULTS
The nationwide traffic survey in 2015 was realized according to new „Methodology of performance and assessment of nationwide traffic census 2015“ approved by MDVRR on 30th June 2015 thus the results are comparable to the results of the former surveys.
1. In the traffic survey results 2010 and all former surveys the value applies as:
„T“ is the sum of the number of all tapes of heavy goods vehicles and number of trailers
„S“ is the sum of the number of passenger vehicles, number of all types of heavy goods vehicles and number of trailers, of motocycles
2. In the traffic survey results 2015 the value applies as:
„T“ is the sum of the number of all tapes of heavy goods vehicles
„S“ is the sum of the number of passenger vehicles, number of all types of heavy goods vehicles and number of trailers, of motocycles
which means that heavy goods vehicles and tractors with semi-trailers in contrary to the previous surveys count as one vehicle.
The results of CSD in 2015 are processed in a table and graphic form for each self-governing region. In the graphic section, in the maps it is necessary for each RPDI value to switch on the level with respective marking (T, O, M, S) and switch off the other levels RPDI.
